THE CHRISTMAS CRAZE!

Its almost that time of year again!

Time to spoil our loved ones with gifts and treats!

But before we can afford those lavish gifts and few but great days off over the festive period we must work our b*tts off!

The HGV industry tends to go a tad wild during the festive period with newbie drivers rushing to get that CPC Mod 4 done in time and agency drivers battling it out for the last shift at the best rate of pay!

The festive period is a great chance for 'NEW' hgv drivers to get on the road because most firms & companies are desperate to keep up with the higher demand in deliveries and orders.

You can get some great rates of pay with companies like royal mail offering up to £185 per day (Ref:12)

The ever growing online industry!

With a whopping £133 BILLION being spent online in 2016 (Ref: 13) which was a growth of 16% form the previous year we can expect 2017 to be a big spend too!

You might wonder what this has to do with HGV? But some might suggest that the online industry is becoming the making of the HGV industry with 152 BILLION TONNE being moved by HGV's (REF:14) we are literally are keeping 'Britain Moving'.

But is it all worth it?

Jumping onto the Christmas Craze band wagon may be your best or worst decision! If you're prepared to sign up to an agency for the festive period then be prepared to be let down during the new year.

Most companies push out all the work in time for Christmas but don't always plan ahead for the New Year leaving many Self Employed drivers out of work.

However some drivers might cease the opportunity to earn the extra cash over the festive period and put it aside in time for a decent holiday and well earned break during the new year!
